PWES HAWK CHOIR The Hawk Choir is for kids in grades 4, 5, and 6. The choir meets Thursday mornings from 8:00-8:50. NO auditions are required and there is an unlimited number of participants. The Hawk Choir is a musical ensemble for developing voices in grades four, five, and six. The year is divided into three sessions to provide choices for families. Performances will take place both inside and outside of the school day. Parents are always welcome to show up and watch any choir performance!
The cost of participation in the Hawk Choir is $10.00 per trimester, per student. (6th graders are free). Money is used to help cover the expenses of music, programs, transportation, accompaniment/volunteer appreciation, and additional equipment. Hawk Choir is an opportunity for students to use their voice in a pedagogically sound manner while fostering appreciation for a healthy vocal repertoire. Music is selected to represent various genres including historical folk pieces from around the world. Hawk Choir builds independent harmony singing through unison parts, round singing, partner songs, and two-part publications. Music literacy is encouraged, as many students begin to evolve from rote learning to independent reading of music notation. Details and updates regarding Hawk Choir are posted on the Hawk Choir page of the PWES school fusion website. I am always available for any questions you may have in person, by phone, or by email. The Hawk Choir is thrilled to have Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Shindel assisting with the choir this year!!! Fondly, Mrs. Davonne Johnson |
